Job Description

Microchip has an opportunity in for an Sr. Process Engineering Technician at our Fab 5 facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Responsibilities

Disposition of engineering hold lots and SPC failures related to equipment qualification, microscope inspections, defect level measurements, critical dimensions, and overlay.

Analyze data on SPC violations to determine and correct root cause.

Perform qualifications, create/modify recipes, and maintain process control systems on processing and metrology equipment.

Identification of process excursions; containment and disposition of material in the event of an excursion.

Perform engineering experiments, create special processing instructions, and document results.

Assist equipment engineering and production specialists with down equipment troubleshooting.

Understand the policies and procedures of the area and the equipment and be able to mentor and monitor these practices.

Work with Production and Equipment Engineering to meet Fab goals related to safety, quality, cost, and output.

Provide accurate and thorough passdown of equipment, process, and lot status to upcoming shift.






Job Requirements

Associate of Science degree or greater is preferred
Greater than 3 years experience in semiconductor manufacturing with chemical processing
OR greater than 6 years experience in another industry with chemical processing

Qualifications

Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication and processing areas at submicron dimensions.

Knowledge of ASML lithography equipment and DNS and TEL tracks is highly desirable.

Knowledge of metrology tools for overlay, critical dimension scanning electron microscope, and defect inspection is highly desirable.

Ability to troubleshoot problem product lots by review and understanding of the process flows and process interactions.

Ability to use statistical and/or appropriate software tools (Excel, JMP, SPACE, etc.) for data analysis related to process deviations and equipment performance.

Ability to learn and develop expertise in new software applications specific to Atmel manufacturing, automation, and control systems.

Must be able to work in a clean room environment.

Critical Physical Requirements:
Able to lift, push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 50 lbs; sit 5%; stand 60%; walk 35%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing. Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors, dust or gases.
